新年那天，她站在休息厅的一面大镜子前。镜中，在火光、吊灯以及许多盛装的女人们的光彩辉映下，她觉得自己那么平淡无奇、丝毫不漂亮，不出众。她惊慌地向他转过脸去，急速地说：“咱们走，快离开这儿吧！……”他明白她的心思，吻了吻她的鬓边，温柔地说：“你是用别人羡慕的眼光来看你自己的。”
她听了，顿时轻松地放下手，以一种温顺而感激的口吻对他微笑着说：“谢谢你，你到底还是爱我的。”
